November 2016: Tips, ENews & More!

Can you believe that the year is almost over? November sometimes feels like an in-between time; some very cool days, occasionally mild days; after Thanksgiving, but still sometime before the end of year holidays why not use the time to get ready for the winter season? As you're snacking on your Halloween candy stash, try and tackle an item or two off your check list of annual winter chores. Here's what's on our list of things to do; get out those winter jackets and boots from storage, put snow tires on if you have them, remove the garden hose so your pipes don't freeze, enjoy a steaming cup of hot chocolate.

As it gets colder, you might have noticed some increasing sensitivity with your teeth, when eating or drinking or even just going outside in the cool weather. Tooth sensitivity can be caused by a broken or decaying tooth, or worn down enamel from grinding. If you've been experiencing tooth sensitivity, make sure to get in touch with us, so we can get to the root of the problem. With the end of the year approaching, if your dental benefits are based on the calendar year, you'll want to make sure you get in your checkup so they don't go to waste! Try and book an appointment as early as possible since they're sure to fill up fast.

We would like to wish a special congratulations to Nancey, one of our hygienists. Recently, she was blessed with two beautiful, healthy, baby girls. Alexia and Alenna!

Have a safe and healthy month,

 For Your Convenience

 Congratulations Dr. Abate!

Congratulations to Dr. Abate, who dedicated one week of her time in Grenada, providing dental services to adults and children in need of care. This was a much appreciated visit for the people of Grenada, who have a population of 150 000 on the island and only twelve practicing dentists to service these people. The program was set up by the New York University, College of Dentistry.

 New to the Artist's Wall

This month our Artist's Wall is featuring local artist and photographer Chiedza Pasipanodya. Her photography features different flowers as the theme to this gallery. Chiedza is offering these prints for a donation of 25.00 each. The money will go directly to Laughter for Litres-Hippo Roller Water Barrel Fundraiser for Zimbabwe. This fundraiser will provide families in Zimbabwe access to clean water. Come on in and see her beautiful photography, maybe even purchase a print and help a family get clean, necessary water! Way to go Chiedza!! What a great cause!

 Mind the Gap!

Are you hesitant to show your teeth when you smile?
Is your smile missing something?
Maybe even a full tooth!

Many people, for one reason or another, have lost a tooth. Reasons range from poor dental hygiene to any variety of accidents. Whatever the reason for the missing tooth we can repair your smile and replace your tooth with a dental implant.

A dental implant is a small prosthetic post that is placed into the bone of the upper or lower jaw. The post functions as the root portion of a lost natural tooth and serves as an anchor for a replacement tooth. An artificial tooth is then attached to the post. Dental implants look and feel exactly like natural teeth - in fact, no one other than you and your dentist will be able to tell the difference.
