August 2016 eNews, Dental Tips and More

With August coming to a close it's important that you get out and enjoy the summer before it's too late! While we've had to endure record-setting heat over the last month, the weather has been a little more comfortable lately, leaving you with no excuses to stay indoors. Have you been to the Zoo? What about Canada's Wonderland? There's still time to enjoy what the GTA has to offer!

While summer official runs until September 22nd, August often feels like the last month of the season with kids heading back to school. If you have children we suggest booking an appointment for a cleaning before schedules fill up with after school activities and clubs. If you are heading off to college or university, don't forget to look into your school's dental coverage. Make sure you maintain good oral health while in school and consider scheduling an appointment to get your smile in shape for your first day of class.

Please note that the office will be closed on Monday September 5th for Labour Day and will resume regular office hours on Thursday September 6th. Fot any dental emergencies during this holiday, please contact the Dental Emergency Clinic at 416-485-7121.

Have a great, safe, holiday weekend!

 Taste of the Danforth

The Krinos Taste of the Danforth is Canada’s largest street Festival, welcoming approximately 1.65 million attendees annually. The Festival celebrated its 23rd anniversary and this year the Festival was even bigger and better than before. Even though we have no food to give away, Danforth Neighbourhood Dental Centre has been participating every year since we have opened!

This year the girls were giving away tote bags. We hope you were able to come down for the festival and grab a handy tote for yourselves!

Paleo Teriyaki Stir-Fry Zoodles

Maintaining a healthy diet is important, but it seems like every season we need to keep up with a new dietary fad or trend.

One of the latest trends is the Paleo diet, which is a diet that consists of meats, veggies and fruit while excluding dairy, grains, and processed foods. This diet is rich in omega 3 fatty acids and protein while improving digestion and building muscle.

This Asian-inspired zoodle dish is a loaded with veggies and is also gluten-free!
