Dr. Andrew Syriopoulos is the founder and owner of the Danforth Neighbourhood Dental Centre. He graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto in 1987. He practiced in Kitchener as an associate dentist and has maintained a private practice on the Danforth since his graduation.

Dr. Syriopoulos has been a member of the Greek Town Executive for three separate terms, serving once as Vice Chair.

He has served as an Executive member of the Faculty of Dentistry Dental Alumni Association and has been demonstrator of restorative dentistry at the University of Toronto.

Presently, Dr. Syriopoulos is the President of the Asclepius Dental Society, and President of Toronto East Dental Society. He also holds a position as Councilor and as a Political Contact Dentist for the Ontario Dental Association.



Dr. Lock began his post secondary education with an undergraduate Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Toronto in 1993 with a Specialist in Human Biology, a Major in Psychology, and a Minor in Economics. In 1994, he then returned to his place of birth in Glasgow, Scotland, to obtain his Bachelor of Education.
Although finding teaching rewarding, Dr. Lock accepted an offer of enrolment from Case Western Reserve University's School of Dentistry in Cleveland, Ohio, and Graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree (DDS) in 1998. Dr. Lock furthered his education by obtaining a Certificate of General Practice Hospital Dentistry from Veteran's Administrative Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1999.

With every appointment, Dr. Lock attempts to provide the highest possible quality for each and every procedure performed, and considers patient satisfaction of paramount importance. He is a member in good standing of Canadian, Ontario, and United States of America dental organizations, and is current member of the Toronto Implant Study Club.


Dr. Tony Mitropoulos is excited to be back home in the vibrant city of Toronto. Having spent much of his dental education and training abroad, he welcomes the opportunity to spend more time with family and friends in the community. Dr. Mitropoulos received his B.Sc. Degree in biology from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.

He then moved to Cleveland, Ohio to complete his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Case Western Reserve University in 1999. Upon returning to Canada, Dr. Mitropoulos became a staff member of Brantford General Hospital. Having had great experiences away from Toronto, he is glad to be settling back in his native city. Dr. Mitropoulos is especially looking forward to joining The Danforth Neighbourhood Dental Centre, and working along side
one of his school mates Dr. Lock, and all the doctors and staff of the
office.


Dr. Hodge received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Western Ontario, and was subsequently licensed by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, as a General Dentist. During his final year, he was awarded the Senior Award in Pediatric Dentistry.

Later he returned to the University of Alberta for a period of postgraduate studies. He obtained his qualifications as an Orthodontic Specialist, and undertook to obtain the additional qualification of a Masters of Science Degree.

During his tenure as a postgraduate student, he was also the recipient of research awards from the Alberta Heritage Fund and the National Research Council of Canada. Upon his return to Ontario, he received licensure from the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario as an orthodontist.



Dr. Gizzarelli completed his first degree at the University of Toronto in pharmacy. He worked as a pharmacist at Toronto General Hospital for 2 years before returning to the University of Toronto to study dentistry. Following his dental degree, he continued his studies in the same university and completed a 3-year, full-time Master's degree in Dental Anaesthesia.

During these 3 years, Gino trained in the operating rooms of the Hospital for Sick Children and Toronto East General Hospital with other training rotations at Toronto Western and Toronto General Hospitals.

Dr. Gizzarelli is a member in good standing with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, the Canadian Dental Association, the American Society of Dental Anaesthesiologists, the American Dental Board of Anaesthesiology and the Canadian Academy of Dental Anaesthesia. Dr. Gizzarelli is a diplomat of the American Dental Board of Anaesthesiology and the National Dental Board of Anaesthesiology.

Through sedation or general anaesthesia, Dr. Gizzarelli looks forward to making you or your child's appointment very pleasant and is happy to answer any questions or concerns that you may have.




Dr. Pamela McGrath is a 2002 graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine.  She successfully completed a General Practice Residency at Illinois Masonic Medical Centre in Chicago, Illinois where she was invited to complete a second year as the Chief Resident. Her experiences in Chicago have provided her with the opportunity to

work closely with many patient populations such as children, elderly,handicapped and special needs patients.  Upon completion of her residency Dr. McGrath worked for two years in private practice in Chicago. 

Dr. McGrath recently moved to Canada with her husband, a native of Toronto.  She has a strong commitment to providing her patients with high quality comprehensive oral health care at each appointment.

Dr. McGrath is currently a member in good standing of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons and is a member of the Canadian Dental Association, American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and the American Association of Women Dentists.




Prior to becoming a dentist, Dr. Swayze completed an Honours degree in Physiology at the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from Queens University. Dr. Swayze graduated from the University of Western Ontario, Faculty of Dentistry in 1993.

Following this, he completed a General Practice Residency at Victoria Hospital and University Hospital in London Ontario. Dr. Swayze worked in private practice in Kingston Ontario until 2001 before moving to Toronto with his wife, who was completing her medical residency.

Dr. Swayze has taught at the University of Western Ontario and the University of Toronto, Faculties of Dentistry, and acted as the Assistant Clinical Director at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto. He has also lectured extensively at numerous dental conferences, including at the Ontario Dental Association annual conference. Dr. Swayze has volunteered his services in several northern communities, Guatemala, Belize, and to homeless teens.

Dr. Swayze presently divides his time between acting as the Assistant to the Registrar at the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, and at the Danforth Neighborhood Dental Centre. Dr. Swayze, his wife, and two children are proud to be part of the Danforth community.




Dr. Sofia Khan completed her Honours Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto with Majors in Biology and Zoology and a Minor in Near and Middle Eastern Studies. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University and, soon after, returned to her hometown of Toronto.

Her experiences in New York City included treating patients from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds with various medical conditions and oral health needs.

Dr. Khan is a member of the Ontario Dental Association and the Toronto Central Dental Society. She is committed to providing high quality dental care in a comfortable and caring environment and is dedicated to continuing dental education by attending and participating in various seminars and lectures. She enjoys providing preventive and comprehensive dental treatment to patients of all ages.
